I've posted here once before and I'll be the first to admit that the song I posted sucks balls. I spent some time figuring out how to get the kind of sounds that I actually want and now, here I am again asking for feedback.

Also, here's a preview of the track i'm working on at the moment.

Sounds ok mate, I'd work on getting your drums sounding a bit bigger. Its all down to layering and mixing down, but sounds like your getting there on your second one.

Much appreciated. Drums are consistently my biggest problem, but i'm having some trouble getting everything to be as prominent as I need it to be.

No worries...The thing with mixing is you cant have everything prominent, some things need to be further back etc so it doesn't sound clogged. Everything need its own little place in the frequency range...Hope this helps mate.

I've picked up some drum packs here and there. It's not the the drums themselves, I'm just not as good at leveling everything as I need to be.

If you're using Reason there are some good tutorials on youtube on how to layering and equalizing so you get that punchy sound. This funny dude from boyinaband made some. May the Dubs be with you.

I like the intro, it's got me moving. I dig this beat overall! It sounds nice, I really dig the gritty sounds you have going. Be persistent in making music man and you'll get better and better, strive to learn. :)

If you could possibly return some feedback my way on my thread, I would really appreciate it!

Some cool use of melodies mate i like the tunes, there is definately potential, like a lot of the others are saying though theres a few more tricks of the trade to learn to get those tracks sounding top notch. Like a lot of the others have said, one of the most important things to remember when your making drums is to use high quality sample packs, which one(s) you get will depend on what kind of sound your going for you'll have to take a listen, and the drums should be a lot closer to the front of the mix, maybe with some more high end frequencies, at the moment it sounds like your hats are right at the front of the drum mix, you wonna bring the kick and the snare to the front. Also look into layering some sub bass underneath your mid range bass sounds, a rich sine wave type sound is ideal.

But yea like i said, the tunes are cool..... your ideas are good, just a bit more leg work to do with the old tutorials :P
