Soundcard/Interface low volume and crackling issues

Hey,

Ive just bought a new set of KRK RP6 monitors and unfortunately bought a Behringer FCA202 audio interface for a week or so to tide me over until i can afford an M-Audio pro.

Well, the problem I have is basically that when I run the KRK from my PC RCA output straight to the monitor, i get a loud and crisp sound (albeit with the annoying buzzing sound inherent to RCA). But when i connect the monitor through my audio interface via 1.4" balanced jack i get more than half reduced volume. This makes me have to turn the monitor volume way past what it should be to achieve a decent level and feel as if I don't want to do this as it may result it over stressing the internal amp, or something. Either way i want the proper volume back.

Also, the piece of shit soundcard makes god awful glitchy sounds whenever I first play something and seems to have a fair amount of lag from time to time too. Im pretty sure this is a latency issue but am a little comfused seeing as my PC is a solid setup. In my PC settings i have the volumes right up, latest drivers etc etc and in Ableton i have everything setup with the ASIO drivers and the correct settings. What's going wrong? Or is it simply just THAT bad a soundcard that it cant deliver anywhere near satisfactory volume?

Hoping someone can help me make the most of this piece of shit soundcard until I list it on ebay. Any help would be well appretiated!

Have you also installed the drivers for the soundcard itself?

I used to have this problem when I ran ASIO drivers so I just routed my outputs from the soundcard instead of ASIO.

Also have a tinker with the input/output buffer size. Check the soundcards manual to see what this should be set to.
