skrillex style synth in Ableton?

Hi guys
I'v been producing now for about 5 months (part time) I use Ableton suite for everything, I find it superb, only flaw is I think the sound quality and mastering tools could be a tiny bit better.
I use the Operator Synth to make all my basslines and synths at the mo however after resampling time and time again and working the Operator synth as best I can I can't make that Synth sound found in Skrillex' track Scary monsters, I know he has probably resampled the sound several times to get it as it''s very unique however does anyone have any idea's or another synth that you can generate this sound with, I'm pretty sure it's a sound you can't create within the Massive synth either!
Have a quick listen to this one i've been playing about with, thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure you can create this sound in both Massive and Operator, allthough Massive is probably easier.
There's a signature 'how to' somewhere around in DSF which I guess basically covers most things you should know.
Not sure about that though, didn't watch it myself.
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, I'm investing in Massive this weekend so will start learning how to use that, hopefully may be able to get a similar sound going!

PLEASE just try searching in the SEARCH box top right. Advanced search will be even more refined.
There are literally about 20 threads on making a Skrillex Bass.

It will never end!!!!
Uno i actually saw a pack for massive which had two folders skriix and datsik.... first time ive ever seen a pack with producers names in it 0o! i winched
Maybe OP should be looking into Fm8 rather then Massive, for that low end layer in the bass sound.
you know now that hes off djing and being populer he hasnt got time for synthesis, op get U-he Ace and lets go on a wonderful discoving journey of Fm Synthesis.... also Zebra has illix possibilities.

Skrillex uses FM 28 and dblue Glitch. He might also use Operator, since he does use Ableton.

i'm confused as to why everyone says skrillex uses fm8. i've seen state on facebook that he uses massive.
1 osc in massive, then dist -> filter -> dist -> [...]

you'll need a virus ti, an EMU (for resampling with z-plane filters), a vocoder and to be sure a moog for the sine sub. also a new haircut.

I'm pretty sure he uses Massive, but he told me himself he uses FM8 for Scary Monsters. Although I have found that you can get the same-ish sounds using Massive too, it's really just a lot of resampling and using effects chains

Seriously, what are you talking about?
After 5 months of producing how would you know that the sound quality and mastering tools could be better?
I'm super cereal, unless you are a converted mastering engineer than I call shennanigans on that statement.

I've made some pretty awesome sounds using Massive and dBlue Glitch. Just make a really wide typical saw sound in Massive and then just mangle it up. Works wonders. It really doesn't sound like a raw sound straight out of Massive but I'm sure if you mess around with it you'll get something similar. A lot of people say he uses FM8... don't know if that's true but it's worth a try. It's a lot more versatile that Massive. If you can't afford FM8/don't want to pirate then try operator.

Deadmau5 is pretty tight with Skrillex and they both use Ableton, so watch some of his stream vids and tutorials. I'm sure you'll find something of use.

why the **** do you need that bass for...?
its completely pointless goin after a sound that somebody achieved eventually by accident and improved it then...youll spent 5 more months trying recreate tha bass that maybe even skrillex wont...and after that period when you look yourself into the mirror ll notice that you start looking more like him... Did you see somewhere round forums Skrillex askin how should he make his or another artist's bass ?
=> go unique and
=> the best tip I could give you is that : disable all your social i-net accounts, uninstall all the chat programs and lock yourself at home for about 5-10 more months...get yourself a base knowledge round these forums and start practicing and experimenting...soon youll have great results and ppl will tend to ask "how should i make that Darkali style synth ?"
decide by your own which option fits you the best
PS : Youll spent more time searchin for the best Noisia/Skrillex tip ( like I did ) instead of achievin your own nasty sounds...there are millions of different cases and "it depends"-es so dont bother.
