Should a dubstep DJ Set stay at the same tempo?

Seeing as most dubstep is around 140bpm, should the set stay at the same tempo, or should I drop a few other sorts of music in to stop it getting dull?

i guess if you throw in a dnb tune or something at 130bpm and do it well it shows your skills.
Breach - Fatherless is always one to throw in. Timeless track and 130bpm?
But it people are there for dubstep then they won't get bored?? Just make sure you throw in the right tunes at the right time. If the crowds not reacting as well throw in a hype tune and reload or something. Usually gets good responses?? (unless your a reload whore)

You need some experience mate... Of course you can play tons of other genres, music - what ever. There are no rules. Or yes, there is - do what you do well, or get out.

Why? There's more important things that determine a good DJ set than variation in tempo to be honest.

What I've been doing lately is playing more double time dubstep slowed down a bit and then speed it up throughout the set until you're at like 145 tear out kinda stuff by the end.

I've had quite a crowd response keeping the set at 140 the entire time.
This is however, keeping in mind that you arrange your mix in a way
that carries the energy fluidly without using too much of the same style.
There's tens of thousands of tracks at 140, but they can carry many different
energies.

I suppose a dubstep DJ should play at whichever tempo gets the best crowd-response. While one crowd would show a positive response to keeping a 140bpm tempo, another might be falling asleep out there... Just like many things in DJing, it depends on who you're playing for.

Also one of the reasons why dubstep is at 140 I feel is that it EDM sort of evolved to find that middle ground. 140 is sorta that perfect range where you can play it double time and it has a good feel and you can play it halftime dubstep and it's still reasonable. Try playing 150 4x4 or 120 half time and it just sounds kinda... meh. I mean I know there is 4x4 music that is 150+ but lets be real people, those speeds are awkward. How the fuck does one dance to gabba?

Noooooooooooooo. You can pitch pretty much all dubstep. house, garage up or down to be able to beat match then slowly return to its original BPM.
