Listen to some of skream's live mixes, he pitches most of his stuff up to 145-150, brings up the energy immensely IMO. I personally work around that tempo (145-150), but I mostly do more breaks oriented stuff.

Depends on what I'm doing. Just go with whatever feels right.

Depends what I've been listening to before the DAW's opened, bit of house, probably down to 134, DnB 145. Depends on my frame of mind before I actually start, am I energy orientated or chilled out.

do what sounds good...
you can always change the tempo if you feel it needs to be faster or slower

For house/electro I like 128 - 135 (tho i think 135 normally's too fast, but depends on the bassline tho), 140-150ish bpm i like dub :D music have no rules, it's about doing what you feel is right, your ears are the best weapon! they should deside your "rules"

my slowest tracks - 110bpm (house stuff)

fastest tracks - 135bpm (dubsteppish/drum machine/old school electro stuff)

i think making stuff in a variety of bpms helps the creative juices flows (and challenges the djs playing your tracks :D )

Yeah, your problem is that DMZ tracks are generally only sold as records so you probably have a vinyl rip with motor-tremble included unless its one of those rare songs they let out digi... :4:

CDS = digital too, didnt mean to cause confusion on that, when i say digital I mean anything that not vinyl haha, from cdjs to timecodes to midi to w/e... No hate for it though ftr, CDJs + pc effects for me all day long.

N arent all counters always wrong? Even my DAW cant get adman bpm right lmfao.

Whatever works, really. As stated previously, BPM is adjustable, and if you can yourself to residing within a sort of framework, things might start to stagnate. As for me, I normally range about 130-150 for dubstep, and from 150-240 for breakcore and drum & bass. Lowest was probably around 50 for the earliest stuff I've worked on. Ahh... nostalgia.

the tempo count in fl studio has 3 0's next to the larger numbers that can be changed;; what exactly is that doing? i notice no difference.
