STOP AND READ, IMPORTANT

Scratcha DVA is an important DJ in our scene.

He runs the daily breaksfast show on rinse fm.

He has been running this show for a very long while.

He sometimes makes jokes that nobody seems to find offensive....until now...

read this...

http://t.co/KDjezYp

NOW

It's okay for people like chris moyles to make jokes about auschwitz (spelling), question will youngs sexual preference and complain about how much money he is earning, yea that's fine. But when a radio station ACTUALLY CONCERNED ABOUT PLAYING ACTUAL DECENT MUSIC, finally get's an FM license, continues to do what they do on a day to day, they recieve a flaming....

This isn't just about the comments made by scratcha, I sense something more devious in a lot of these complaints.

You may say 'oh well since rinse has turned commercial now, that's how it's got to be', NO. Sorry, I can't agree with you while there are still pricks like the one mentioned above on our airwaves

FUCK DIGITAL SPY

Why would I be bitter?

I don't even listen to rinse so don't give a shit how it's operated.

so why post in this thread?

it's not JUST ABOUT that, and plus I don't know where your friend has got his info from, alot of those complaints are real.

As I said before, it's more about the underlying nature of the comments

Is that why they are called Rinse FM? Because everyone played needs to wash their mouth out?. Come on. Someone had to make this joke.
What is this digital spy forum? Is it seriously people who listen to the radio just to report offensive content?

lol

its people on a forum moaning and bitching with each other about a couple of minor swear words.

Whats the worst case scenario?

Bunch of people will write letters (more than 1 person) to OFCOM forcing them to investigate. Radio will get a warning, or some advice on direction, this will be fedback to whoever is to blame.

Making a mountain out of a molehill mate.

Radio in the UK is regulated by a company called Ofcom.

If you allow one radio to talk about the differences between someone shooting someone in a war vs someone else shooting "400 bullets" on the streets, then you have to allow that rule for everyone else.

Same with swearing. Sometimes people do swear by mistake, but they shrug it off and apologies. Swearing like it's nothing (like I do) is when people start to complain.

I don't understand the OP's opinion on this. Why do you say fuck digital spy at the end of your post? I thought you agreed with the
OP on that forum/thread.

people on digital spy have as much right to listen to rinse fm as we do, so you lads should probably stop flaming them as it does your own argument no good.

id be interested to see what rinse's rsl license actually says about swearing - there's been a few opinions thrown around in this thread but no facts.

as for the 400 bullets remark, whether or not you think it should be broadcast, its not a classy thing to say. or funny, clever, witty, insightful, or anything other reason it should have been done. it just sounds dumb and displays a lack of consideration for people involved in either the war or guncrime (its rinse fm, its gonna cover those bases). so for that id be interested to see whether rinse has its own set of rules and whether they get enforced.

think about it - chris moyles says that about the 400 bullets, there'd be a fucking shitstorm whether or not you lot personally think its okay to say on the radio. so why any different for rinse? just so happens that nobody listens to rinse so theres only a very small voice of dissent.

fuck off with your "my mate reckons theres a anti-rinse digital spy conspiracy" its clearly just someone who likes the music but would rather not be sworn at at 9am. i could get to that. what if my kids were listening?

no, i obviously don't agree with digital spy's opinion.

I am thinking more about the damaging effects this will have to rinse fm's license that they have strived hard for.

either they havent broken any rules and theres nothing to worry about, or theyve broken the rules and should get their act together
