Hey, i'm new here, and made an account just to ask this question, i'm not a fan of the whole UKF scene but my mate showed me this, And I'm dying to know how to get that sort of arpeggiated 8bit sound throughout the song. It's most noticeable at around 0:28+. I use logic pro, and any tips/links on achieving this sound would be proper appreciated. Cheers DSF

any synth can do this and GASP this is one case where a bit crusher comes in handy
basic waveforms and set your bit crusher to downsample till you have that old nes chiptune sound and go from there

Sqaure wave.
Put the notes in yourself, or use an arpeggio
The square is essential for the classic 8bit sound

I'm using Logic Pro, However i can't seem to find an arpeggiator, Will i have to input the notes manually using piano roll? I was sort of looking for a VST that had one built in, as the track above seems like the synth was made using a VST arp rather than manual input

Interesting, I'll try it.
EDIT: Just did. It sounds similar but it's not the same.

theres a million ways to skin a cat. your not going to find the EXACT noise. Just make one your happy with. Triangle and square waves bitcrushed makes this type of sound. and just manually make an arp

No idea if this has been mentioned, but once you find the sound you are looking for, you can use a stepper or and LFO to either make an arpeggiation or make it sound like it's an arpeggiation. It take a bit of tweaking. If you're using an LFO, you need to use like a reverse saw wave I think. I haven't made that sound in a while. I'll let you know if I do it again soon.

chiptunes generally are square waves with a ramp lfo/env on the pitch.
