it's a very intuitive program. just don't use the sounds they give you... the "hip hop toolkit" can do a decent sub if you tinker around... but yeah, for drums and stuff, get your old records out and start sampling.
and get Albino, it's a good vst for modelling synths and, yes, the wobble bass.

nah it's not, it's wicked, load ur own samples into it, and use seperate audio channels to eq and effect, and there's nothing u cant do (apart from reverse dang)

i love impulse, its so simple!

yes in the past I used impulse for every thing but lol with dub I can't do much Im like doing One kick clap another kick with a halv kick touching it and another lower clap and building the pattern like that... is that the way you create dub ?

sorry i'm probably bein retarded but i don't know what u mean..
i'd stick with tools u know if you've produced anythin before. so if you know how to use impulse, then why not stick to it?

nnxt advanced sampler for win.

or if you have ableton 6 unlocked fully use the sampler. its just a shade off the nnxt but its a pretty handy in program device.

i find ableton wicked for most music styles. some of the bits are a bit pants but thats nothing you cant get around with a few good vst's.
which frankly i would have come to use anyway.

sorry which hip hop toolkit? I'm also having trouble with making the bassss.

Anyone recommend a good plugin for live on mac which can help? Otherwise whats the best method to make nice bass within live? :)

+1 on operator. I use it for all sorts of sounds including basses.

I also use impulse and I'm quite happy with it.

well if you are rocking Ableton Live 6, the Hip Hop Toolkit should be in
Instrument Rack>Synth>Bass>
then just turn the Drive and the Kicklike down... play around with like the Harmony and the Tail, and throw some Ds on that bitch by applying a compressor and yeah.... works for me.

operator is sick, with 4 osc and the lfo can be set to tempo sync => serious wobbles:)
