anyone used this along with timecoded vinyls in VDJ/Deckadance?

cant afford traktor/serato and from what ive heard this does the job very nicely. can get them for like 50/70 quid too

maya 44 s a bit shit now compared to what you can get around the same price, my best suggestion would be the american audio versaport
i have one and i cant rate it high enough, its wickedly fast, and the sound qualitys mint, its actually that gets sold with the cheaper dvs packages like intimidation touch and reloop spin.
only downside to it really is that it hasnt got phono throughs like the serato or traktor soundcards, but its definately worth it

also, on the software side, i have been using vdj for about 4 years, but in the last year they have properly stepped up their game and gunning to take the crown for the top dj software around, their latest timecode engine feels way more responsive than traktor, but not quite as good as serato. but i reckon theyll beat them soon

and whats that about the phono throughs? does that mean basically i cant flip from the timecode to normal vinyls with the line/phono switch?

and this is sick..seriously thought id have to spend a few hundred quid on traktor/serato which i didnt really want to do

yeah that exactly, so its a bit of a hassle to setup, i think, im not guaranteeing anything but vdj might actually do it in software now, but if it does theres gonna be a little bit of lag cause itll mean the record will still be processed through the laptop, not just a clean signal being sent straight through

also turn off your wireless when your mixing, causes alot of latency in the system and feel free to pm me if you need any help with anything relating to vdj

I'm interested in this too. I definitely do want to be able to switch between timecode/vinyl with the line/phono switch.

I've got a numark USB mixer, comes with 2 USB in/outs and can play and record simultaneously, wondering if i could use the ins as inputs for timecode, because then i could use the phono switch on the mixer to play vinyl as well.

ok eventually got it all up and running after fucking around with the settings for about an hour.

problem i have is that everytime i load up a song i have to wait for the waveform to load up, and if theres already a song playing it sometimes runs slow as shit and mean the song hasnt even loaded halfway before i want to mix it in.

surely im missing something?

if i set the priority to above normal it loads up really quick but then my laptop starts having a mental fucking breakdown

my mate was using the 44 for a bit and then stopped because it had a poor response time from the time coded vinyl

the response time doesnt feel bad on mine at all actually, it was terrible at first but after tweaking the settings you can get it running with good latency.


the bad thing about this is that it shows me how bad my turntables really are...the pitch controls are dancing about like mad

Running mine through 1210s & Virtual DJ atm with a MBP, has like half a second delay and it has the habit to fuck up, would never trust it playing out.

is there nothing you can do in the settings?

and mine randomly seems to make a dodgy noise about once every 30 min. but yeah i wouldnt dare play live with the thing

Tried loads of settings, it was the same when i had it on my old PC, probably worse. Had a go on my mate's Serato too, and it's a different level.

have you tried turning off the wireless on your laptop via the button/switch on the case, makes a huge difference in latency for some reason have you got the newest asio drivers and such?

If you're willing to pay for something like vdj, I would definitely go for the investment and go with Traktor/Serato.
