Odd Future are fresh to death
Prodigy just singled them out as his favorite new rappers in an interview the other day... Tyler on a Mobb Deep track would be pretty cool.

hmmmm..... not sure about these really.... seems like a mix between old school eminem and necro! im not really into that horrorcore rap really.... dont really like the treated vocals, i cant feel any soul or bounce in their stuff really....seems like they are unecessarily brutal with their rhymes....
i think they are getting hyped waaaaaaaaaaaay too much..... isnt XL going to release em? i know it is a fairly large UK independant that has got their claws into them.....

Agree with you there, some tracks definately need more of an old skool vibe and they are definately too hyped.. but It is refreshing to see! reminds me of like Cannibal Ox stuff.
Like I'd like to see some traditional sampling of funk/soul tracks like the old days!

^mellowhype = left brain + hodgy beats of odd future. lot of their stuff has that 'old school vibe' you might be talking about. some other smooth stuff as well
all of their current mixtapes are up on oddfuture.com for free, and goblin drops 5.10.11!

Earl is the best thing about Odd Future and he's not even active right now. The beats are generally pretty lackluster, but they definitely have some abrasive gems. Tyler is just loud, not an extraordinary rapper, not horrible, just loud. I think over-hyped is the best way to describe them. They've got some good ideas and a lot of their shit is "fun", but I see it more as novelty.
