Safe forum heads. Tried something rather outlandish here! I know the tune is a classic and I was really concerned about messing a great tune up but thought it would work really well as a ukfunky/deep house kind of tune so, with that in mind, I give you my take on Loefah's classic beat.

Is the main difference the weird synth in the second one? Think it's better without it. Really like this though mate, brave move touching a classic, but it's good! Got a suitably Swamp 81/Ramadanman feel to it, as if Loefah himself retouched it!

Ahh safe mate, you don't know how much that has made my day yeah, the retouch is the synthy bit, I think I agree with you about it though. Nice one for commenting, still really new to production so it's great to get positive feedback.

bumping above some ah dem robot bass tracks although it is good to see a lot more bassweight being repped nowadays in this forum.

I was going to come in here and call "sacrilege!" but this is really cool. Definitely need to tidy up the levels in your mix, tighten up those drums with some well thought compression and if I were in your shoes, splash some reverb about particularly on that rimshot.

Shum's tips are spot on, the drum patterns and overall ideas are really good, just needs that little bit of tightening up.

without sounding stink or owt, i'm only sending this out to people I know a bit about, had a few requests from people who don't dj and, as happy as it makes me that people like the sounds, I am trying to get this released and only want dj's to have it for now. Sorry if that makes me sound like a twat but, take comfort in the fact that, at least I am an honest twat.

haven't commented about this remix till now but it's great! it's hard remixing a classic without taking away the essence of what made it good but you've managed it really well. You should definitely send it to loefah as others have said
