alright so ill be honest here, some of my favorite producers are excision and downlink, call it brostep or whatever you want i really dont care, but i do also listen to a good amount of chilled out digital mysticz type of stuff. So ive been thinking, whenever i listen to either of those two types of music, i always wish there was like something in between them. As in something thats primary subby sine wave bass, but is still heavy and filled with energy.
this isnt really the best example of what im looking for, but something along these lines with less midrange and more sub bass and not necessarily as much wobble, although i dont mind some of it to an extent.
so can you think of any suggestions for artists or songs?

yea those were all sick, really like that goth trad song and the j kenzo...but even still, i guess the easiest way to describe what im looking for would be like a dubstep version of noisia. Really hard hitting stuff with energy that still keeps it deep, well maybe still a bit deeper than noisia, like maybe even somekind of drumstep would be what im looking for
yea like i said wierd example, but something still a bit deeper than those, yet combining the styles of those two songs into dubstep haha

well a song like unexpected by dmz even though it may have a lot of power to it, how can you tell me taht its not more "chilled", or atleast slower in comparison to a song like excision no holds barred remix, or downlinks biohazard.
random question, obviously theres a lot of people from the uk on here, but are there many people here from western canada? only reason i ask is because we do have a very large bass music scene over here, and its just interesting to see how different the styles of music are. we definitely dont make american brostep here, buts its also not the more traditional stuff you guys are seem to be into. Like for example yes hes on rottun, yes he uses a good amount of mid range synths and what not, but whats your guy's opinion of subvert? ive just never heard anyone that knows how to just tap into bass that works so well if that makes sense. I mean he started and owns PK sound, and really does make some truly awesome music, especially live, well you pretty much have to see him live to actually hear his songs fully since all his songs are made for massive pk systems. its definitely not in the style thats popular here but its also not all just in your face "robot noises", so id just be curious what peoples thoughts were on him.

How can one song thats 140bpm be slower than another song that's 140bpm?
Also, when you get tunes like Unexpected played in the dance, there's an incredible amount of energy in it. Songs with sub that push your chest inside out are hardly 'chilled'.
