ok so im trying to set up my new midi keyboard with ableton. everything is working fine, but im trying to assign knobs on my keyboard to parameters within albino. im midi mapping knob 1 to say cutoff filter, and when i move the knob it shows the parameter going up and down on the bar at the bottom of the window, but the knob does not move within albino, and the sound is not affected. It works fine with operator etc. cheers

Should be able to accomplish it like with Operator.
Press CTRL + M, select what you wish to control, then press or turn knob on controller device.
Not 100% sure, but should be as simple.

Have you configured the parameter within Albino as a macro control? i.e the bar at the bottom in your device rack, is it showing up there? It should work fine.
I'm a massive Ableton fan but don't have Albino, if there is a demo I will give it a go when I get home at 5pm and see if I can help. The way I do it with other VSTs is hit the configure button for the instrument in the device rack, then click and move the parameter in the VST I want to automate / assign. It then comes up as a macro slider in the device itself, down in the rack at the bottom.

Yeah i know how to set up midi mapping, albino worked fine before i upgraded to windows 7 and ableton 8.1.1 recently. The macro slider at the bottom of the screen is moving with the midi knob, but within the synth the actual knobs arent moving and the sound isnt being affected by the midi controller at all. not really sure whats up with it!

What happens when you move the parameter in Albino? Does it move your MIDI mapping at the bottom?
Have you tried starting a new project, loading up an Albino in any old track and mapping it in there? This might tell you if the problem is specific to your project or not.

this is what i mean:
when i move the midi knob, the slider at the bottom right moves, but the knob within albino does not move, and the sound doesnt change. If i move the knob in albino, the slider at the bottom right does move, but only once i let go off the knob the slider jumps to its new position. Any help? thanks

it seems automation doesn't seem to even work with it...

That's a weird one man. Personally I would troubleshoot and find out if its a problem specific to this project / synth. Does the same happen in other synths? If it does then it could be a setting in Ableton. Does it happen in new projects too? If so then again it would suggest its a setting in Ableton. If it only happens in Albino 3 in all projects then it would suggest a problem with Albino. So I would try reinstalling the VST maybe.
If you exhaust all possible troubleshootings i would try asking on the Ableton forums, they are very knowledgeable over there
