techno is THE genre that I truely despise.
I'm not gonna say why etc. but just recently I was wondering what are other dubstep fan's thought on techno, since well... dubstep and techno belong to the same genre of music.

i dont own a single techno track, however i feel the same way you feel about techno as i do house. Stupid fking kids music. at least techno can be dark and have a similar kinda feel to dubstep in some respects. can vibe to it

lol no i dont know what house is. haha seriously. Yep i said that, and meant it, also i have 2 other friends that have been djing techno for over 12 years now, and it was them who said its like kids music, i only agree. I must admit, not all house, i like the deep stuff, like nicholas jaar just to give an example. But ive got a bunch of mates that all mix tech house and oh my fucking go that shit is terrable, and yes, it to my ears sounds like stupid commercial kids music. Even them lot are moving away from tech house and moving to the deeper side.

Techno is one of my favorite genres behind dubstep and drum and bass. I love pounding 4x4 rhythms, hypnotic repetition, and creative textures.

oh yeah tech house is gash! deep, minimal house is where its at, with the raw groove, and movin bassline.

I can see how someone might not be into listening or raving to pure techno, but if you're a dubstep fan I don't see how you can completely dismiss it as a genre when it was such an integral influence on the original sound.
Some of my favorite crossover 12"s of recent times..
