Life without technology

i love modern technology but dont you think it would be more interesting without it?
if i wanted to talk to one of my mates theres a thousand ways i could do it, phone (mobile), text, facebook, twitter, email, ping, msn, liveprofile etc
but it seems like even though there's so many ways to connect with people, people arent actually connecting.
i know im not forced to be a slave to technology but i think id rather live in a time where, if i wanted to talk to someone, i had to go over to their house or phone their house phone or whatever.
im not only talking about connecting with people but just with everything in general.
i dont really have a good way of explaining what i mean but does anyone know what im getting at?

Yep, social interaction is now 80% 2D over a phone line, most people couldn't go back if they tried.

we're slaves to the system.
it's all about getting out of your house, get your friends and have fun, do stupid shit and stuff like that :p
fuck college, fuck a job, fuck a cellphone.. you know what I mean
(don't take me too litterally though: no money without job, no job without college and so forth i know but think about just the idea for a second.. )
I think we would all be a lot happier !

I get this too, for example, this guy has Facebook on his blackberry and he responds to any comments/wall posts/whatever almost instantly. He's always on it. It's rendered him almost entirely useless in any actual verbal conversation.
Facebook is a heap of shit I swear. I have it, yes, but I can honestly say, I rarely use it at all. Connecting the world my arse.

its all good in moderation. What I really hate is people being on their blackberry all the time when they are with you. pisses me off so much. why would you want to do that?
The fact that blackberry have made that bbm thing so you can no if someone has read it just facilitates things. puts me off getting one. I dont want anyone to know if i have read their bbm or not.

Marketing hype: cool, trend, instant access, vip, exclusive, special. The democratization of self importance and selfish indulgence.

this is why I believe so much in this "wake up" shit.. it hurts me so much every day in those clear moments of observation how imprisoned people are. They can only open up a little bit to their friends. And even with them they still don't open up entirely! And I can honestly say that I'm like that as well to some degree, although I'm really aware of it and admitting it to myself and trying to say fuck it, I'm gonna be myself: imma do my thang. And I've had many people laugh at me, but I can imagine there are people who are laughed at even more. It takes real courage to really be yourself and do what you want to do without having the social paranoia and all that shit.. Too bad people only truly open up when they've taken the right drugs.. Isn't it just magical how drugs like MDMA learn you to love everything and everyone again?
I wish the collective mentality would change, so that everyone suddenly realizes how stupid we've been all these years..
