Out of the plethora of music genres that have been and gone, its assumed it is dubstep.
It could be, or it could be any of the other genres floating around now that the kids like. Trey and Matt are probably getting a bit old, most music that kids are listening to these days probably sounds like shit to them.

Well I take it as a possibility by more than one factor.
One: The creators have yet to come up with anything new for a while, so they have been using current events in the media and making them into episodes.
Two: As you know the stereotype for the genre is mainly fart noises, and wobbles.
Three: They are getting old.
Mix these all together and you come up with a decent possibility.
Honestly if they decide to make an episode on it, good for them, no skin off my back, I just didn't know it would possibly get to this point.

When they attacked autotune it was fucking gold. The clip doesn't sound like "dubstep" though, just a random drum machine loop.
Since it's about music I hope they bring the goth kids back.
