So we've had the top 5 singles and so as we approach the halfway point of the year what's your top 5 albums bagged so far, hopefully a decent amount of stuff I've missed I'll get on to through here.
2562 Fever, Album of the year so far
FaltyDL you stand uncertain a very close 2nd
Africa Hitech I don't care what genre it belongs to, I don't know tbh, but it's fantastic anyway
Kode 9 and the Spaceape - Black sun took more listening than Memories to have my full attention but it's definitely a grower
Instra:mental Resolution 653 a stone cold fucking gem of a record
Can't believe that I'm 6 months into the year and James Blake doesn't make my top 5 nor does Kryptic Minds and Can't sleep was a collection of great songs nor Pearson Sounds Fabriclive
it's a great year for music top top stuff getting released

Weirdly I wasn't feeling the GSH and Jamie XX collab for the single but the album is much much better
the Weeknd deserves a mention as well

See in amongst all the mainstream / syco / lloyd discussions there's been some cracking music released this year and it keeps coming.
I'm trying to figure out how to get Zomby's Dedication into the top 5 albums of the year so far possibly at the expense of Resolution 653 and I can't get Shabazz Palaces in. This also means no place for Silkie whose City Limits 2 was a fantastic release Amon Tobin ISAM doesn't make an impression on the top 10 and we still have the EL-B ghost chaser on it's way Jack Sparrow and Ruckspin on Tectonic with a collab between Pinch and Shackleton a whole fucking albums worth that I am super excited about. Then there's Surgeon, J-One, our very own Wrexile, Tes La Rock and Machinedrum (what a record that was) as was Hyetal's and I'm still only scracthing the surface.
I'm not eve considering the singles though Pinch nailed it with Swish and Closer. Like I see threads bemoaning the state of mainstream music I see more fantastic music getting released than was ever the case, ever.
This is a great time to be into music

didn't really dig the 2562 nor the falty dl album. kryptic minds is nice, would there is some lack of longtime motivation imho, just went through the 3x12s yesterday despite being big club tracks they're just all a bit samey... can't compare to the swamp81 release.
nicolas jaar is one of the best albums this year, andy stott is really interesting too but imho I havn't found an album that totally amazes me in its being. lots of albums just don't have an album-feel, they're just a compilation of tracks that would have been released as 12s.
for the best albums this year I'd rather look outside the dubstep genre:
Charles Bradley - No Time For Dreaming
J Rawls -The Hip Hop Affect
pete rock/smif n wessun was quite okay too, some big tracks but not entirely good. even Reggae-wise it's been a rather poor year so far, can't name one reggae/dancehall album that stayed in my mind. mostly just collections of tracks that are bangin the floors...
