A recent addition to London’s electronic underground, Heavy Industries brings together some of dance music’s most cutting-edge names for sporadic parties across the capital. A veritable clubland nomad, Heavy Industries will take control of a different venue for every party – occasionally stopping by at an old haunt if the time is right. It’s all about the deeper shades of house and techno, combined with the rib-shaking, futuristic sounds of dubstep – London’s most recent notable musical invention.

Promoter James Mowbray has been involved in the dance music scene for years, as Managing Editor of Mixmag and as an artist on acclaimed label Four:Twenty Recordings. He created Heavy Industries at the start of 2007 as a new outlet for some of his biggest musical and artistic passions.

After two roadblocked events at the intimate Horse & Groom Pub in Shoreditch, the Heavy Industries now takes hold of London’s most exciting underground venue – The Corsica Studios in Elephant & Castle. Complete with a pounding Funktion-One soundsystem and a breezy outdoor terrace, this back-to-basics venue keeps it simple and effective. Recent parties from techno newcomers Closer and nu-ravers Game Over have seen the likes of Luke Slater, Colin Dale, Punks Jump Up and Franz & Shape shake the filled-to-capacity venue to its foundations – and Heavy Industries looks set to continue the trend.

The line-up is a soundclash of techno and dubstep, featuring Ink & Needle (live) from Copenhagen (the men behind the awesome tattoorec.com releases that have been storming dancefloors across the globe), dubstep kings MRK1 & Virus Syndicate (live), James Mowbray (of Four:Twenty Recordings and the man behind Heavy Industries), Hatcha & Benga from KISS FM and London dubstep institution FWD, Craig Torrance (also from Four:Twenty Recordings and Berlin’s Mood Music), Rusko & Caspa (Sub Soldiers), Matt Xavier of Railyard Recordings – all the way from LA via NYC and Berlin – and Downshifter vs Kid Twist.

It’s going to be free before midnight by emailing your name to heavyindustries (at) jamesmowbray.com.

On the night we’ll have full Funktion-One sound and a custom-built bass rig.

Thoughts people? What say Team Kiyani?

Corsica Studios is a sick little venue - holds about 500, got a kind of squat party feel to it but with a nice outdoor bit at the back, amazing Funktion One soundsystem in Room 1 and for this event a custom built dubstep styleeee bass rig for the second Room.......it's right by Elephant & Castle National Rail too so well easy to find...
