What Does Dubstep As A Music Genre Mean To You?

Finally i can make my cats meowing to heavy wobbles tune
J/K its another in the uk's evolving genres, and i know that the genre after this will have carried lessons from dubstep.
Dubstep takes uk back to its roots as carries of the jamaican and euro sounds. kraftwerk and 2 tone ska.
not since drum n bass has a genre promoted this so much.
Also english pride,that we can make our own scenes.

Means alot to me. It restored my faith in underground progressive music (not commercial shite labeled as undergound), got me dancin again and buyin vinyl.

it started as a genre i just liked for its sparse, minimal vibe, its broad palette of rhythms and the role of the bass.
but recently i really started to LOVE this music and i think "yes. thats exactly MY music", particularly when i got into the more dark stuff, digital mystikz & co.
sadly i don't know any dubsteppers in real life (except maybe for a friend who likes the dubstep stuff i gave him), but i want to go to "no partial" next month (dubstep party here in cologne), maybe i'll try to persuade some more people to come with me or i'll post in the events sections here and try to meet someone from the forum... anyway, i just want to hear the dubstep bass blast from a huge system like it should

I'm sorry, thats a bit over-romantic and meaningless.
The Jamacian sound in UK music has shallower roots than folk or orchestral music.
And to be fair, Reggae/Dub and Kraftwerk have influenced artists around the world.
I'd like to hear more folk vibes in UK music like Various Production, it certainly stands out even if they dont make dance floor killers.

heavy blines, deep and dark into a spacey feeling, as a genre has a fat feeling for me! at the 1st listening it can sounds like you dont get the main essence but then you find yourself completely addicted to the craziness.

minimal riddims with huge sub bass at monster volumes in a spot on tempo and none of the usual posing bullshit of the mainstream.
s'all about teh skankin in the dark to music you can feel.

the important thing to me is the incredible creativeness of the different producers and the deep vibe. its not just "dance music" - its proper "head" music as well..
