BEATPORT DOES DUBSTEP AND GRIME?

Beatport has been jockeying for the top slot as the source for digital downloads of dance and electronic music for a few years. Its a novel idea but never seemed to carry any genres that I wanted to buy. Looks like that may all change. They have added a Grime and Dubstep category to their mix. Only 21 offerings thus far ( Hyperdub appears to be representing ) but more should get involved. while there are many sites for MP3s Beatport seems to be the most "commerical" of the bunch and have the support of Native Instruments as well. Tracktor scratch has a built in browser which takes you to beatport so yo can buy while you in the program itself.
A commercial outlet is certainly good for distribution and creates additional awareness to those genres that are lesser known. I'd love to see more labels and indy producers submit their tunes to Beatport, it will only help push the sound of Dubstep, Grime, UKG and the rest forward.

Yeah, was suprised to see this the other day. Copped a tune from Skepta's new album and TRG - Horny. With Bleep being so slow on updating their selection, it's good to have another alternative.

definatly great to see, its all about the labels contacting beatport though. so if you want more dub on there, contact the labels and tell them to get on the ball!

DubKraft is there since a few months and we've scored really nice sales since day one, so any prejudice is not founded.
digital-tunes.net remains the homebase for the dubstep though and the most friendly distro for digi imho

Sorry not a fan of Beatport, take the piss on price - I got a fiver voucher with Traktor and it got me 2 wavs, I had to shop around to be able to get 2 tunes as some cost more!!!
Most places you can get FLAC's (Compressed WAVs which you can convert back) for £1.50 ea.
