Difference between Pads and Basslines?

And melodies for that matter.
For dance genres.

Wow, kinda elementary. Pads = long sweeping notes which fade in and out, often chords
Bassline = Low end melody, shorter and sharper than a pad and usually a sequence of single notes.
Melodies = Sequences of notes that are not in bass range (i.e higher than the bassline pitch-wise)
I may have just been troll-baited.....
