Zeds Dead, the mysterious duo...

If you haven't heard of Zeds Dead then I can honestly say your missing out. Although I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't heard of the duo from Canada. These guys are very talented in my opinion, but they seem to go unoticed throughout the community. Unlike most artist, most of there tracks almost NEVER get leaked, atleast not any good quality full versions anyway. Mainly rips from their mixes is all you can hear from their unreleased. Not to mention that they have pretty much ZERO tutorials on how to create their sounds. Not one single tutorial on their powerul reese like bass, or gritty wobbles specific to them can be found. It always seemed quite odd to me that these two aren't getting much buzz. Why are they so undetected? It shouldn't matter I guess because these 2 have big plans for 2011, with an upcoming ep and releases from a lot of their tracks. If you haven't already heard, check out their newest mix that was on bbc radio. It's all of their material, all unreleased except for the DJ Vadim toot toot remix.

What do you think of these two? Mysterious yes, but do you think they deserve more credit, atleast one tutorial? I know I do...

it seems pretty standard stuff, ive seen their name circulated a lot but not on here and not amongst heads
the places ive seen the name circulated are that dubstep group on facebook and the dubstep music awards page and usually by younguns
the scene is split in two, they dont need fans of dmz behind them

Seems to me like that statement is only relevant in the brostep/tearout/whatever scene, I consider it the norm for a lot of other dance music that tracks don't get leaked for whatever reason (don't wanna cause an argument, but there is a conception that these people will pay for a download/vinyl rather than just ripping it).
Anyway, to me, that mix just sounds like pretty standard stuff to be honest, not feeling it. If they've had a mix on BBC radio, then surely they can't be as unheard of as you think they are?

I could listen to it fucked outta my head @ a bar but not in a bedroom with friends or @ a party... fuck that. Can't deny their production skills though

I guess I can see what you guys mean by "standard". But I just meant that since they infact ARE on BBC radio, or atleast creating well produced tunes/remixes, I just wonder why I never really hear much about them anywhere. Not much buzz on here eigther. Too much talk about Skrillex and such going on I guess. lol
They aren't bad, and they seem to know how to use there samples and resampling skills very well.

not my thing, but their name annoys for when I'm skim-reading and have to do a double-take and make sure I haven't read "Zed Bias".

that is a good thing. atleast to stop the many many copycats too shit/lazy to find their own sound/identity.
you wonder why bro/tearout/filth/whatever seems to just reuse the same sounds, yet people still bang on about how its 'evolution'.
evolution via youtube tutorials, greeeeat

Niicee. I've heard this before. Never knew it was them. I guess it's good they're showing different abilities tho. Switchin things up a bit is always a good trait to have.

Yeaa, I guess ur right. This does help prevent copy cats. I'm just wondering as to why they are so hidden sound wise? You can find tons of skrillex, datsik, doctor p, etc tutorials online. I think Zeds Dead is up there production wise now. They have some very unique sounds and have some nice deep bass and gritty wobbles as well. You'd think there'd be a few tutorials by now? Anyways, I'd like to know how they go about getting that type of sound, but I would never want to use their exact sound. There's no fun in that, right?

Tbh, I've been following Zeds Dead for a long time now (since late 2008), and their electro house productions made me more excited back then, than their dubstep productions do now. There's no doubt that they are talented, but they were carving a niche our for themselves 2 years ago. Now if feels like they are just going mainstream brostep, which makes me less than enthused...

Have probably seen them 20+ times, (toronto locals). Nothing special IMO. Kids go crazy for them over here though. Few of their dubstep tunes are alright but annoys me when they drop alot of house/fidget/electro whatever else they make during a dubstep night.
