Emotive times of late, this ones also free, didn't polish it too much, but feedback'd be great.

Kick needs a bit more power to it, it's getting lost in the mix somewhat. Liking the bubbling water sounds you've got in there. The whole tune reminds me of the fight between Uma Thurman and Lucy Liu at the end of Kill Bill for some reason.

i think the kick sounds fine (i'm also listening on crap speakers atm). i believe this song revolves around 2 notes, whole step from each other. what i would like to hear, and assume others would as well, would be another mellow synth (different texture similar style) streaming a minor 9th chord with the base being the higher note, and a major 7th chord on the lower note. and then when you have that descending 4 note progression keep the same chords but change the bass note. (idk if i'm explaining this well or not it makes sense to me lol)

also i did not hear any bass, again might be the speakers. but i recommend drawing it out more anyway. cool drums

yeh i'm not the best on the keys, although i was going for a simple kind of flow, i rushed it a little as it was basically a sum of emotions over having to put my dog down, definately more could be added in that department but i need to learn a bit more theory.

There's sub bass in there, but yeh it's pretty hard to hear it on crappy speakers. The kick is a 909 which i've eq'd a bit and added some reverb to to fit with the other instruments.

cheers guys

p.s how does the mixdown sound? i semi mixed it on monitors before finishing it up with headphones as it was late and i had to keep it down (dj headphones not studio).

Like the other guys have said, think the progression of the notes needs to be changed ever so slightly, just to keep the attention of the listener. Hearing it on my monitors I would recommend bringing the sub up so that you can really feel it. Would also suggest using a pad in the background to add to the atmosphere. Hope I've not been too harsh, as the song has great potential!

damn, sorry about your dog =/ theory is always a great thing to learn. i been playing piano for 15 years now and i'll never be able to put as much emotion into anything else as i do when i improvise songs
