so this is the leaked plot synopsis of Prometheus, which is being denied, but if this isn't the plot it fucking should be
Don't read any of this if you don't want to know what the new 'Alien' film's plot may or may not be
Earth. Year 2058.
Archaeological digs in Africa reveal alien artifacts that humans were genetically engineered by a advanced alien race (space jockeys). These “Alien Gods” also terraformed Earth in order to make it habitable for their human creations. Amongst finds are coordinates to the Alien God’s home-world, to Paradise. Months later the Weyland Corp launch the spaceship PROMETHEUS and his crew, into deep space to make first contact. Thanks to faster than light travel a few years later the PROMETHEUS enters the Zeta Riticuli star system. Humans are greeted by their makers, then transported further into space to a scary yet fascinating world. The Alien Gods are proud of their “children”, their first creation to reach such levels of intelligence.
As a reward they share bits of their astonishing bio-based technologies with the humans. But for one crew member of the Prometheus it’s not enough. In a treacherous act he steals the “bio-source code” to Terraforming, a technology at the origin of all Gods’ power, that could make humans equal to the gods. The Alien Gods may be scientists but are also ruthless conquerors, destroyers of worlds who will not accept humans as equals. They unleash on the escaping human crew their favorite bio-weapon, a creature used to “clean up” worlds before colonization. But something goes wrong in the process and humans manage to turn the bio-weapon against their makers. Giving birth to a smarter, nastier, bigger breed of gut eating creatures. Creatures that will be the demise of Paradise. What’s left of the Prometheus crew manages to escape the doomed planet.
On their trail a survivor Alien God in very familiar ship with one ultimate mission.
Bring the wrath of the Gods to Earth.
I'm assuming the bio-weapon is the Aliens but then who are the Alien Gods? and what is the very familiar ship? Ripley's ship?

the very familiar ship will be the ship they find the alien eggs in in the first film. The Alien Gods are the dudes they find the fossilized remains of in that ship.

I wish there was a thing on DSF where you could put in spoiler quotations so it only comes up if you click it

I like the sounds of that, especially the 'cleansing' but what made the first two so good was there was very little background info on the aliens. There was just one scary mother fucking alien in a very confined space with not a lot of weapons. Keep it simple
could be pretty decent, especially if it ties into the original alien film a little bit

Yeah looks loads better than other alien films in the last few years. Supposed to be the unofficial prequel from what I've read. Ridley Scott had been talking about doing that for years.

I give it an 80% chance they fuck this movie up with some cheap CGI to make up for the pretty "meh" plot.

So fed up of awful film remakes and rebirths etc but this, this actually looks like it might be amazing. It looks true to the original Alien movie from what I can see and SO excited to see that ship they find the eggs on in Alien.
If this film sucks, take it from me that I will never watch another remake, rebranding, reinvisioning, sequel, prequel or whateverquel to another amazing film franchise again.
Thank fuck it's not Michael fucking Bay..........

The scene on LV-426 in the first film is the best bit of the entire Alien franchise. Always loved how you never received any background information on the alien, the derelict, the space jockey or the planet. It was just there.
Shame they're going to spoil that.

the movie is a total fucking joke. Honestly, only watch the trailer at least that had some suspense in it. They've completely taken a dump on another one of my childhood memories.
Also, the plot is slightly different from the OP, but it is still worthless. Some nice graphics in there though. I love how they fucked it up after only two minutes making noises in space. I mean, some sort of low vibration I could have lived with. But space ships making noises in outer space, that's so star wars man.
What happened to "In Space nobody can hear you scream"? It goes downhill from there by the minute.
