Not sure if this should go in the help me make this sound thread, bit of a notation question too. would anyone be able to suggest notes to play together to get that really dubby piano chord sound on the offbeat, also any free vsts setup to make that kind of sound? would be much appreciated guys :)

Other than delays, heavy reverb, chord stabs, sub and sirens. Are they any other fundamentals to making Dub?

I fancy a go but I'm not well versed in the genre, other than some King Tubby and Scientist albums

Man that's a pretty awesome progression. The vi - iii progression is so weird, dude...

Look up some raggae music, its sometimes just a minor 3rd interval on the offbeat, so say C + Eb, then maybe Bb +D.

Once you learn a minor scale, if you just keep moving down or up using a minor 3rd interval, you can come up with a bunch of different cool melodies.

lol regeaa music, slap a delay on some chords that hit in between the kick and snare.

not bashing regeaa, but its funny how doing one thing can make it a genre basically.

actually it isnt funny at all its amazing

does your DAW not have a thing where you can play chords? FL piano roll has extensive chords lol.

That's not really fair, tbh... you need a echoing sample of someone saying "JAH!!!" as well.

I guess the same thing could be said about dubstep. A cracked copy of massive , lfo to filter cut off = dubstep

for some reason i couldn't embed but this might be useful to you, as for the sound ur after, just process a piano (probably best to go for electric piano), run it thru some subtle guitar amp type effects and pedal boards and shit.

I should've said "most of your music". My mistake.

If you know theory is your weakpoint, why not work at it instead of asking for chords to play?
