Hi,

Great to be part of this awesome community. I just made this a week ago!
It's kind of skrillexy, but yeah have a listen and feedback would be great!
Oh and it's free to download obviously.

Oh and one question..

What sort of dubstep would you call this?

Cheers everyone :Q:

I think you have some really good ideas in here, one thing I will note is that your wobbles are in a different key from your melodic skrillexy part...maybe try and get those in the same key. Also, that kick needs to punch more on the lows, and so does the subbass, try and bring those up a bit.

I like that people are copying his intros, because he made an excellent intro, then dropped into some rubbish.

But if you like the taste of that rubbish, then good for you.

So following, really like your intro. I like the house style claps, being that I produce house music too. There seems to be an odd tonal feel between the sections. I think it's just note selection of the vowelly bass line. I like the ravey feel. Big fan of that.

That claps are very flat though. Needs a trebly snare sample layered over the top. Also, if you're going for the Skrillex sound, some parallel compression and/or a reverb splash so the snare goes Kaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh instead of tsch is a necessity.

The midrange is quite overwhelming. I know there's sub, but it's not really noticable because there is just so much going on. I'd lower the levels of your synths.

Nice synth sounds. Nothing like rave synths.

It's dancestep more than anything. A bit more tasteful than Skrillex. I would love to see more house influence and less metal influence across the genre. Props for that!

Swedish House Mafia's One is a great place to take an intro clap sample. They did it very well.

Excellent feedback cheers everyone. Wasn’t too sure which specific track people were talking about. My fault for not making it clear in the original post..

@qualmsound thanks mate, stupid towards the end? You mean in the ‘yeah man’ track? Or the ‘raven’? I like to bring the listener back to the main tune.

@PaulP Thanks bro, now that I listened to it carefully I agree with the kick needing more punch, and will bring them up on future tracks. But I swear everything’s in the same key? Whereabouts exactly?

@ElSonido Cheers for the extensive feedback! Haha yeah I dig the taste of that rubbish. Will definitely try out your advice on the snares.. had a hard time finding the right one actually. I agree with the midrange, I didn’t really quite know what I was doing when I was mastering lol. I found a couple of guides on mastering, and followed those and they kind of did bring out everything in the end. Yeah I agree, and will probably stick to this dancestep sound!

But yeah pretty much just got into making dubstep about a month ago, and this helped me heaps. Anymore feedback would be awesome.

I commented on your soundcloud, check it out. You start out in C minor, but then your wobbles are in Eb minor, then you go back into the C minor Skrillexy part after those Eb wobbles...and it just doesn't quite fit IMO

Ah yeah I see what you mean. I intended to do that man, it's an F that bends down to the root note Eb. I guess I didn't make it clear it enough?

Lovin Electric Forest btw, that shit's epic. :4:

Thanks man. I think the modulation in your track is cool, if you like it then keep it, its your track! haha. I was just trying to clear up what you intended for those certain parts in the song, otherwise I think you have the skrillexy sound pretty down.

some of your chords are off just a little.....the intro is beautiful....but when it drops its a bit disappointing because you are going for that "skrillex" style and well its just not up to par. Also with these heavy tunes you gotta get that Snare much heavier.....it really makes the track bang alot more.

i really like the intro, i try to get my tracks to have that nice gradual feel, not as successful. nice job.

ps. your synth almost sounds like scary monsters & nice sprites. something about it...i think its the pattern you used.

Your key changes are fucked up but other then that it sounds like a skrillex influenced copied tune. Its good though dont get the wrong impression.
The kick is lost in Kansas you need to bring that back.
