having listened to the programme in some ways the bigger problem than the homophobia is the condescending attitude of those who consider themselves non homophobic. pretty much yeah it's fine just don't talk about it lol.

The "no homo" thing always reminded me of the "batty bwoy" bash tunes that were so common in dancehall. Made it hard to enjoy the music when they openly sing about hating or even killing gay people. Some top dancehall people came together and tried to stamp out those type of songs but it's still around. I don't want to start a religious debate, but it's obviously pretty much the only source left of anti-gay beliefs in our society.

Don't mean to get you to flag waving but I think it's a bigger issue in hip hop that the majority of hip hop isn't open to outsiders. Hard enough for a white american to break in let alone a more white dominated scene and what americans view as a 'softer' scene in general. Same with Chineese, Japanese, Canadians, etc.

out of the vast number of british rappers I've listened to (how many have you actually heard pkay?) I can say without a doubt that there are many more interesting and relevant than the dancing mouthpieces american labels peddle to women and children.

Yeah I dunno about radio play honestly, I haven't heard US radio in a long time besides a couple of university stations and they'd be more likely to play him too. Honestly never heard Wiz myself either.
