So I've been wondering lately, How much use would a good collection of guitar fx pedals be in making dubstep? does anyone currently use them in their studio?

I have one of these:
It's not that nice. Which can be good, run drums through it occasionally, even with no fx on it adds grit really nicely.

Why ask?
Do it, use them as analogue hardware - Real time Delays mmmmmmm
edit - What pedals are you talking about mind you...

When i was too poor for a mixer with effects, guitar pedals were my primary way to meddle with my DJ mixes.
Loads of use. Put a vibrato on anything.

I feel like I have said this 1,000 times already but, you'll need a re-amp box to attenuate the signal if want to use the pedal as an insert or outboard fx. otherwise noise city.
but yes, nothing like a bunch of pedals for hands on control...love it.

it a box that reamps stuff... attenuated. like a trim. lowers the gain so that we don't hurt ourselves doing this shit. (i used to think it brought gain up... never use one myself)
but i do use this guy regularly

Anyone know how to feed software instruments out to guitar pedals using the I/0 in logic (which I've never used)? I dont have a mixer, but I do have several audio interfaces, I'm wondering if it's possible to use the headphone out on one of them (using the interface as an input device) and the headphone out on my computer, or maybe using the headphone out on my computer and using the headphones through my interface. I have a plethora of guitar pedals and I'd be interested to know what a solid bass sound would sound like through a big muff... or a UNIVIBE! maybe i should put this question in the logic q & a thread.
EDIT: still looking for advice on this, but i found a link that might help anyone else with this question (haven't tried it yet though):

Alesis multi bass effect pedal, cheap and works quite well for different effects. Just experiment with different things, Thats what half of being a music producer is.

i use a proco rat, the boss space echo pedal (actually a really nice & clean complement to the actual space echo) ,and a vox amp for stuff. rather than deal w/ mismatching imedances/reamp stuff, i just turn the level way down-- i expected to have some noise issues, but things have been totally fine. use good cables.
