but live implies that he will be performing tracks live. no? that's just my opinion, if someone asked me to play live i'd turn up with laptop kaos pad and midi controllers.

Ez
The aim of our night is to bring something different to you ear. We try to steer away from the standard run-of-the-mill commercial club nights that cash in on big names. Our aim is to bring the slightly more interesting acts to the night and not just throw dj after dj at you.
By 'Live' we mean no Jockey of the Disc, this could be a band with a drum kit, bass, guitar, synths etc, a laptop running ableton to sequence tracks on-the-fly or a full sequencer setup with outboard gear.
Last month we had Amit doing an on-the-fly live sequenced ableton set, we also had a set by Macc on a live drum kit (no midi) laying down a drum track on-the-fly over his tracks supplied by a sequencer. Both of these performances were absolutley unbeliveable and are not something you would usually find at your run-of-the-mill drum and bass night.

So if you're feeling brave come down and see what all the fuss is about.

i understand all the terminology and i'm sure your night is great. plastician is a dj, a fucking great dj at that. but when someone is put on a flyer as live, it means they will be doing more than mixing records.
@ thomas: i don't think its necessary to put live just to imply he's there dj'ing, cos thats pretty darn obvious.
so to clarify mine and forensix inquiry, is plastician gonna be playing live?
(for the record i'm pretty damn sure he ain't, as his first live appearance could probably fill a stadium )

Shunk, you got the wrong end.
i didnt think Live ment a live DJ set, i just havent really seen it used for a DJ before. Live on a flyer to my knowledge would be a live band or what ever.
Anyway, ska fancy a hook up for this....althought i wil be getting a few people together its nice to meet a dubstep head
