My friend wants to start making dubstep, but he don't has the money and skill to start with reason or fl studio.
He asked me if there where some cheaper and easier solutions.

After googling around I saw a program returning in a few results.
It's Dubturbo Pro.

These guys sell their software for only 29,99$.

So I was wondering if some of you guys already have some experience with this program? And will it be able to satisfy my friend? (He doen't want to get famous, just smack some tracks together..)

Dubturbo Pro Website

Holy shit.

That whole website reads like a textual infomercial. Not good.

Yeah for not much more money I definitely would recommend http://www.reaper.fm
He can evaluate reaper for as long as he wants before paying, the software is not crippled.
Or any other free ones honestly, even Ardour, LMMS, nerdtracker, all free too.

Or was this spam?

...but wait! There's more!

Thank you guys for that reaper.fm

Looks a lot less like one big ad and more like a real dj software.

I'm going to advice him this :p

and why would this be spam?

Just maybe it was your site or you were advertising. I only saw 1 other post by you and it was advertising your site. No hard feelings, just been some spam around here lately.

You have to make at least 12 posts about conspiracies here before you are cleared as human.

I have yet to see a single review of DubTurbo that hasn't been written by their marketing team.

"doesn't have the skill to start with reason or fruity loops"

I started using fruity loops when i was about 13, it's easy, and it's good.

A lot of people think dj = electronic music producer somehow, never understood it myself.

Dubturbo sounds like the DAW equivalent of that BBC dubstep making browser app thing

exactly, same here. Except I was on ACID music studio when I was 12 but still. Fruity Loops is really easy, in fact, its kinda known for that. And its full-featured.

Dubturbo, on the other hand, seems like it would be easy but definitely not full-featured and hardly a DAW at all.

Don't forget about reaper which is basically free and is also full-featured. But it would be the right thing to pay the $40 if you like it.

CAUTION: Due To The Easy Techniques & Amazing Sound Quality, Customers Are Left Feeling Extremely Impressed With Themselves & Have Reported Having Uncontrollable Perma Smiles For Several Hours Straight. In severe cases, some customers have developed what we call C.B.M.A, a Compulsive Beat Making Addiction. PLEASE BE WARNED!

yeah, like everyone else said... reaper if you don't want to drop much money.

however if you want to take it seriously at all you'll need a midi controller and some monitoring headphones and/or monitoring speakers... and when it comes to hardware you definitely get what you pay for.

Kind of unrelated, but I don't have a midi controller or headphones. So, could you suggest some good ones that are also cheap? Kind of inexperienced at the whole hardware part of producing. :D

good headphones, sennheiser 280 hd pro... and they're easy on the wallet too: http://www.google.com/products/catalog? ... CDgQ8wIwAQ

good entry level midi controller, with transposing in DAW's you don't really need more than 25 or 49 keys:

http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Oxygen25.html

there's also a series of keyboards by m-audio called axiom, and they're like the next level up from the oxygen... they have drum pads on them which are real nice.
