i love jungle/drums and bass just as much as i love dubstep. I love the way artists such as dom and roland, omni trio, higher sense, skream (burning up/some magnetic man stuff), renegade and most of the moving shadow artists mess about with the amen break, they completely chop it up and turn it into some awesome ass stuff! i was just wondering if any of you guys ever tried sampling the amen break.

Classic break. To be honest with you I'm kind of tired of it. It's always nice to hear it in the background of a jungle/dnb track ripping stuff up but that breaks had 15-20 years of rape. It's time to put that kit to bed. If I hear it in one more commercial about trucks or jet skis I'ma rip off my head :/

Best go back and watch that video I posted then. It's integral to EDM history. That and "Funky Drummer." Mawwwwww... homework.

Breaks in general are good for any type of EDM. 8) So if you are a producer of EDM, its a very good idea to familiarize yourself with the amen. 8)

I love the depth in your track, especially once the bass kicks in.

I've tried playing around with the original Amen break, but I could never make that sounded as what what the Jungle producers have been able to make with it! Even though it's been overused to death and back I still like tracks that make good use of the break.

I've been using a couple layered breaks including the Amen in the track I'm working on. But I'm basically just using them as the filler between the kick and snare, instead of programming my own hat pattern. I lowpassed off the kicks and made the breaks pretty quiet.

You can get some pretty good ideas from just listening through amen breaks.
Remember that more elements than the drums can be played in the rythms of the amenbreak. Don't know how to make it sound logical, but you can have your bass going with the same groove/rythm of an amen break without using the amen break itself. You can get som pretty decent results doing this.
