Been a follower of Dubstep for a while now, moved on from D&B cos it started getting lame, and wasn't enough BASS for me..!
Luke Envoy was my ex-gf's neighbour, and played on my rig for her b-day party last Sep, at which point i realised my system was for Dubstep...

I've got some speakers ment for club installation, but i lug them about in the van for parties and the occasional free-party cos they are f-king great, and fuckin bass-y too, only problem with them bein install speakers is that the 9.2k total wieghs in at around 330kgs, plus bout another 20-30 in amps and shtuff...

The rig consists of:
6k bass, direct, 4 cabs - 3 15" cone in each, no horn loaded shiz... (65kg per cab)
2 NEW 1000W SUB-BASS CABS
800w of mid
400w of high
(mid-high cabs are 45kg each)
All seperatly driven by their own amps...
When stacked, (mid-highs need to be on-top the bass for proper clarity) the whole thing is bout 7ft high and about 9ft wide, tho normally set up either side o the decks..!

Im always up for a party, especially if its my rig, and im not a skank when it comes to costs, normally around £85 plus the diesel for the van...

(Just to clarify, the 'around £85' is for house partys, bbq's and such, where I can get mullerd, and dont have specifics on removing it the next day... Also, its based around an 7pm-3am time...
If you want an early start for a whole bank holiday weekend for example, its obviously going to be more..!
If you want it for an event somewhere CHARGING MONEY FOR ENTRY, which usually requires a take-down at the end of the night, ill need extras, partly because i cant get trashed, and the amount of effort it takes and £50ish for a travel lodge for example...)

So, if anyone wants to take use of it for a party, just get in touch and ill see what i can do..!

Feel free to add me on MSN, started myself a Dubstep Contacts group:
Jtrade@hotmail.co.uk

P.S. DID HAVE A GENERATOR TO POWER THE WHOLE THING TOO, JUST INCASE ITS AN OUTDOOR EVENT, BUT IT GOT ROBBED...

Already had some PMs about nights and Free-parties, though on the free-party front, only if its on someones land who gave permission, im not having the police coming in and trying to smash up my system, and me, when i try to protect it..!

Load it up at Kenilworth castle, I'll pay £60 just to see the faces of the English Heritage old crew walking round then getting smacked in the face by some bass.

Oh yeah, and if I catch anyone red-lining the mixers, which clips the music, which makes it sound wank, I get real REAL arsey, and try an get them removed from the decks..!
Got a limiter at the speaker end though, so dont have to worry bout peeps blowing cones or anything..!

It most certainly is..! Got real power in the bass, with finely tuned enclosures, which gives those extra few decibels to make you go deaf..!
They use decent cones too (RCF), had one go on me once, cost £150 just for the cone(cheapest price in the UK pretty much), then postage, then......
LOL. how sad to have to explain RED=BAD...
It really is suprising how many people dont understand this, but its taken me a while to realise if you only play music, and dont handle the out-putting of it, there is no reason why you should understand it..!

Its all about soundwaves, a soundwave is a nice flowing line that goes, for example, between +1 and -1, with 0 being no volume... (Sine wave i believe..?)
Anyone who has opened a sound file to edit and got up close and personal with a certain segment of, say, a second or 2, will know what i mean...
Now, when you put that wave into a speaker, it makes it go in and out nice and smoooothly...

BUT, if you red-line your mixer, the sound wave goes into the amps looking kinda like: \_/^\_/ (bit crap) essentially not flowing between +1 and -1 but just slamming up and down from +1 to -1...

Its why its called clipping, because it clips off the top and bottom curves...

This slamming effect is what happens to your ear-drum too, and is especially bad when it comes to the high parts of music...

Its also pretty bad for speakers, as they are not ment to slam from back to front at full excursion, and you end up wearing them out real quick, or just burning out the coil...

Hopefully some of you DJ's out there will read this and find it interesting, and if you stop ur mixer from clipping, the music WILL SOUND BETTER
Everyone always wants the system turned up, because your ears get used to the volume, and it doesn't sound as good...
My advice there is, at the start of your night, while the venue fills up, have your gains low and master volume as it should be. Then through the night, you get more headway to crank that killa tune, and have it still sounding amazing..!
If you want it loud to start with, you just gunna have to buy more speakers..!

spot on mate...i think it means 'stuff', maybe i made it up

from my experience of sitting in vans, i'd say u go for those mercades sprinters. i worked for a computer company and we had to go up to bristol every other week. with a van full of computer equipment =, we managed an average speed of 90mph. the van was vibrating, but we assumed it had restrictor, so it would stop us doing any crazy speeds.
