if ur just starting:
A good sample library - Vengeance House, PrimeLoops Dubstep Nation, Prime Loops Dubstep Illusions are my favourite
An easy comprehensive DAW - FL Studio is ur best bet
Good VSTs - Massive, z3ta+, albino, etc. this is where it gets expensive
Decent Flat Monitor Headphones, sony makes a pair for like forty bucks, spring for KRK monitors if u feel necessary (its not)
thats all u need when first starting. oh, and creativity, passion and time

fl has horrible samples for dubstep, not alot of variety. also the DSF sample packs are kinda useless if you ask me

fl samples are shit, i agree. dsf samples are good, for a start something to mess around with.

whats the primeloops packs like?
ive downloaded a few "dubstep" packs before but they were just full of stupid brosteppy samples that had 15000 effects on already.

Primeloops makes amazing packs. Dubstep nation is probably the best one. its got really good, clear samples, and a variety of FX and atmospheres. worth the buy definitely

Making good music, regardless of genre, is about how well you can put the ideas in your head into your DAW. Not, in fact, which sample pack you choose to use. Worry about that shit later, when you have your theory and all that down.
