Ok so I have and APC 40, and im wondering what other hardware I could get to add stuff to my homemade studio :) . I see people with an APC 40 + APC 20, but then again I feel like i need a MIDI keyboard more. I really dont know what to get. The DJ Mixers look so smexy too ^_^ .

Anyways, I can afford more then one piece so let me know what would be useful :) Akai XR-20 looked cool but it wasnt really made for dubstep lol.

What does that mean though? It looks like a beginner's MPC geared toward hip hop. That's not such a far cry from dubstep... depending on the kind you make I suppose, but I know I've found some of the best sounds for dubstep in "hip hop hardware" like the Korg Triton. You can't load your own sounds in the XR20 though which makes it not worthy to buy IMO. Kind of like Akai's take on grooveboxes.

If you don't have a keyboard but feel like you need one, then it's a no brainer I think. Get yourself a keyboard with some knobs, sliders, and possibly pads. Since you mentioned Akai gear, check out their MPK49 and MPK25. For something cheaper but comparable (but without pads) check out the Alesis line like the Photons.

And yeah price range helps. Since you mentioned the XR20 I assume your range is ~$250/£150 or so?

Per item, the price range is up to 500, but i would like something thats a quality product and doesn't have to cost so much. Like my APC 40 was $350 or so, and I consider it a really good product for that price. So something like that.

I was recently looking at the Korg NANOseries 1+2 and was thinking about getting those. A lot of people have been saying that i don't need a costly mixer if im using ableton, im not sure what thats all about.

and Akai is now out of the question now that I know it can't be loaded with custom sounds lol.
