How can I make my songs more danceable?

I've tried upping the tempo slightly, changing drum patterns and varying the oscillator speed on the bass. All my songs sound like depressing 'sit in a corner and meditate while headbanging' type music.

its allllllllll about the mood of the whole track, changing tempo, oscillators will really do nothing. aim to make a dance song from the beginning instead of changing it later. a good way to go about it is upbeat melody's.

make POPpier sounding progression and melodies. Major scales/chords and more notes.
Also sample the "everybody dance now" clip and use it before your bass drops in... surely people will have to dance once they hear that on the floor.

we already have that, it's called doctor p. by dub influence i'm assuming you mean the sound of dentist's drills right? cause that's the essence of dub after all.

Any element of a track can make it danceable. Most focus on Drums and Bass but you can have more melody driven stuff like Joker aswell.
Don't think there is one quick answer, but just try improve your drum sequencing and bass lines.
Working on track at the moment, its still in the early stages, still pretty rough but the beat at the start has quiet a strong pace to it but its still half time and its still just 141 bpm - N.B. The bass needs to be reworked, going to get it moving with the beat more:

I find listening to some 2 step can always help with ideas for swinging groovin dancey beats.

just pass around a few Disco biscuits, that usually gets the crowd going

Oh man, I actually haven't heard a Doctor P track in so long. Last one I heard was his Sick Tonight remix, then I got bored of him and his whole label. I'm guessing he's still bad then.
Oh well, brb, sampling some dentist drilling noises. I'm not going to land a spot on the Hyperdub label, and do a collab with Blake without it.

Jokes thread, but this is the one innit. There's nothing wrong with sit-in-a-corner music, but if you want to make people dance you have to have that in mind from the word go...
