so if anyones has checked out any pop music on the radio in the past two years,
theyd notice how they all have to seem the kinda similar house beats.
i mean they have variation somewhat but all the beats are pretty damn similar..
anyone think that dubstep would be like that one day? the back drop to pop songs here?
many musical critics in the u.s. are labeling dubstep as a fad that has little radio value and would eventually fade away.
but not saying im in favor of it, but i could easily see pop artisit using it and if some hiphop beat makers got wind of how similar the styles are
i could atleast see it making an impact on rap, i mean rap here is known as "BUMP IN THE TRUCK!!" so i mean what really goes harder in base than dubstep?
and most drum formats in dubstep are easily rappable but most that have attempted, mainly snoop dogg failed because they try to go just as hard as the beat.
i mean his remix to eastern jam IMO sucked. but omar links and zeds dead "out for blood" sounded what can easily draw in mass rap fans.
again not saying that im in favor, but its blowing up anyway!

yeah, there are pop songs floating around with a dubstep-esque beat, stupid robot sounds and some generic female vocals.
i think, like all things, it will come and go in the mainstream. but for those who genuinely like the sound there will always be a solid and developing scene to keep an eye on. that's why i don't care about dubstep being on the radio etc, cause there's plenty of quality stuff for me elsewhere

Rap goes harder in car systems, that's a fact. You brits don't even know, Gucci Mane got lower sub than Mala that's a fact.
And America has no dubstep clubs so it will just be a fad and die out.
We got cars, brits have clubs, different cultures and different subass frequencies.
FACT

It's gonna fade. Every pop song over here anymore is about "tonight" and "going wild" over some generic 4 on the floor.
As far as the bass freq's go it's an absurd argument because you'd have to go on a song by song basis. Most good rap beats have somewhat sloppy production anyway. (which can be good imo.)

well as an american, i can say most rap songs do bump hard, if you have subs.
but almost anything will if you have a good pair in the trunk..
but as an overall view dubsteps bass is alot heavier..i heard one wayne song that had this bassline changing tones throughout the song,
probably the most deep ive heard out of any rap song. dont remember the name though the actual song wasnt that good lol

Mainstream music has alot of fads coming and going. A couple years ago it was rock rock that was popular, the token black rapper before the last chorus and now it's david guetta shitty-house and some dubstep. (Britney Spears dubstep bridge wooooot?) Hell, even Maroon 5 have an awesome sounding saw-bass in "Moves like Jagger".
Wonder what the next fad will be... :O
