My first controller question ??!!

Hello all. I have a question. I'm learning to dj and have been doing gigs at house partys with my buddy's controller running torq. I do dubstep and hiphop/bliphop/glitchhop. I'm going to purchase a controller on this upcoming weekend. Seeing as I'm a relative begginer I wonder what would be a good choice. I really like the hercules dj 4set. But it seems to be made for the consumer. I have made a ton of connections and gotten offers to do small clubs and bars. My concern is if I get something cheap now and then start working a lot of gigs in the near future will I have to upgrade to something better made for a pro. I don't want to do q lot of real shows now as I'm not confident in my skills yet. Is the 4set a good choice considering the level I'm at now or should I get something a little more expensive like The vestax vci-300 which I also really like?

Opinions welcome :D
Thanx!!!

behringer bcd3000 is quite a beginners controller i guess. It has a build in sound card. I used that before i bought my cdj's

whatever you do, do not buy anything from Behringer.
I would go for one of Vestax' controllers.
Or have you considered getting turntables and a timecode setup?

I am leaning towards a Hercules RMX. I don't give two shits about scratching, just mixing and beatmatching (and cool FXs). Eventually I'm probably going to get an ableton controller and do my shows that way. But I can't afford ableton at the moment and if I just get a controller now I can do some bars/clubs/weddings/party's etc to get some extra cash so I can play my own stuff the way I want to. I wouldn't really consider my goal to be a dj persay as much as a producer/composer and the only real way to perform dubstep/glitch-hop is to mix it. I'd like to just get the apc and ableton now but I can't afford both till I start doing some gigs.

yeah better buy a shitty beginner A&H xone 92 mixer while your picking up the newb gear!

jokes aside.

There is a launchpad controller that comes with a starter ableton live 8 disc (doesnt have the full suite of instruments and you can only have 8 channels at once i think), For 149.99!! Just an idea, i use a launchpad in my dj rig... works pretty well...

I have the rmx not a bad machine ive done some gigs with it worked fine for me. Not a big fan of the virtual dj software though personally im switching my controller to the novation twitch or the ni kontrol s4 soon. Learning more towards the twitch since its cheaper and i don't need platters i would reccomend it over the rmx more than likely and its still fairly affordable. Im trying it in store as soon as the local places have have it so i can see the build quality see the features ect.

vestax vci-100 mk1 trust me you will not be dissapointed. plus djtechtools has different mapping/overlays, custom firmware updates, and tons of support. the thing is solid as fuck. id look into getting a used 1 from djtechtools.

Well I went to guitar center and played around around with the Akai apc40 and I love it. A big selling point is that it comes with a version of ableton live already. Which I was planning on buying anyway. I don't really feel the need to use jogwheels at all but I'm a little skeptical on how to set up a live performance using ableton. I've used it to do production and in that aspect it is amazing. Has anyone had experience performing shows (dubstep or other genres) with ableton?

The apc comes with ableton live lite btw. Im not sure how good live lite would be for djing. You would probably need the full version for gigging

but having that lite version can get you a discount when/if you upgrade to ableotn live 8 or the Live 8 Suite. 100 dollars off i thinks.
