Arab spring, European uprising, US financial disaster, UK media overhaul, rise in protests etc.

Things do seem to be about to kick off, any rational predictions on what we'll see occur in the next few months/year?

in all seriousness, there has always been a huge list like that at any given time in history, i think life has gotten a lot better for us common folk. maybe we will see a paradigm shift in the near future tho, hopefully it's technology driven

I hope the world will change but it doesn't seem to that much.

My view of the future is mostly of the two competing science dreams, one of the looming environmental catastrophy, global warming, over population, complete loss of animal life, and the other of the astounding and limitless advances of science that seem just out of reach.

politics and economics, the media and popular culture, seem so low that they can only improve.

i at the moment think US debt was never going to default, it was just a threat being used to weaken obama so the right can try to regain their grip on financial policies, to keep them in pocket and also to weaken obamas position circa voting season.
money crises come and go, there will be another boom. western involvement in said boom, now thats another question. one hopes rising economic powers can learn from the mistakes of previous crashes.

if by european uprising you mean greek protests, thats yet more economies faltering.

i think the biggest threat that we face as a whole race, is stemming the spread of far-right thinking, amongst all nationalities, before it gets serious. a financially minded, liberal alternative to party politics would help things in the right way; the coalition had so much potential, alas they should have put vince where george is, dave should try less hard to remain liked by the public and nick should have tried less hard to be liked by dave. oh well.
