Ive checked the huge guide to producing dubstep for info on these topics and found usefull info but my questions were not completely answered.

So anyway what im cofused about as for sound cards is basically how they work/are connected. How would I connect a external sound card and what would i need to understand/ do after its connected to allow the soundcard to function correctly to its full potential. I am wondering the same questions for internal soundcards.

As for monitors basically im wondering how i would go about transferring audio from a labtop/desktop to the monitors do i need a interface of some sort, or can i use some sort of usb or other sort of cord for this.

Sorry if my questions are to vague or confusing but im not trying to make them that way.
