This begs the question. If you took old dub/roots music, and put a label on it, say a skrillex side project, and then threw it up on youtube as leaks... would the skrillex fans be over it?

Definately worth a try, would prove the hype around his music is due to kids looking to cool.

i'd have to use a track that's not off the GTA soundtrack though. any suggestions? scientist? lee perry? mad professor? anyone?

i initally though mad professor and jah shaka, as its got quite an electronic feel...

Should do it with a mala track or something that the bro's would consider boring.

The sound of 'pure dub' would just be the overdubs without the main tracks... To be honest, it might sound very daft and strange in the least...

Make sure to run it through a multiband compressor then squash it with 3 limiters or else they'll never believe it.

But srsly that would just be dissing the ol dub guys, don't do it lol.
