Is my music dubstep or something else?

I'm pretty new here but u might remember im a drummer and am pretty new to dubstep and sequencing electronic music but never the less I'm about half way through making a live drumming EP and am wandering what exactly I'm creating.

Here it is, so my question is, as a whole is this promo with my music dubstep? Second is the sequenced part dubstep? And finally is the drumming a real dubstep beat? I'm new to sequencing and realize it's probably the weakest part but I'm trying.

Thanks guys (sorry if this is in the wrong place I wasn't really looking for a review so I didn't know if it should go in the critique section or general)

I'm using a Mac and if I remember correctly there is none for apple. Really my goal with this EP is to hook up with a dj or producer and do a duo type thing and I'm hopping this EP is my vehicle to gain some credit as a dub/electro DRUMMER in my local NYC scene. I just need to know what to tell people when they ask what my music is, is it dub step? Could it be so bad that it's not anything? I have 5 songs and they differ quite a bit however the one thing they all have in common is they all start or switch to a cut time feel like dubstep. I'm not arrogant, I don't think I can just play some chords and a bass line and make great electro music. I can tell that there is a lot to the genres and it takes a lot of practice and learning. I'm wandering how in over my head I am from a melodic standpoint.

I just need a "press kit" of sorts into the genre, I know plenty of jazz producers and artists in the city who I work/go to school with and its amazing how far apart the to genres are from an industry Stand point. Really isolated.

I wouldn't call it dubstep tbh. The beat just dosn't have the swagga that dubstep tends to have. It needs to be alot more loose. Not really sure how to describe it.. good sounds though.. nice kit too. I'm still rocking a Peavy Int Series II... Havn't played it in years.. Might set it up at the weekend and have a bash after this.

Brostep = Skrillex / Beaport Top 40 (generally).. It's dubstep.. but and extreme of tear-out.

Most people on these forums will tell you Brosteps a sinful pit of moshy midrange garbage and filth-war bs.. A few of us do dabble from time to time though :)

Thanks for your reply and honesty. At least now I know I'm still a ways off from making the product I want. I'll start with a looser more bouncy beat and see how it goes. Honestly I'm glad u said the beat more than anything because that's easy for me to fix or work on.
Hmm honestly after hearing what bro step is, It might be something I'm aiming toards. BP top 40 sounds not so awful to me? Also I'm a drum set major about half way through my degree so the bottom line is I just have to make money eventually. I'm doing electronic music because I love the sound but the bottom line is I have to make money. All my eggs are in one music performance basket when it comes to making a living so I have to make money one way or another.

And dude that's awesome you have an old peavey brain. You should totally set it up and sample those snare drum sounds man! They are perfect for this dirty sounding stuff if u pick the right synth. Really try it out.
