How do 16 Bit make those crazy basslines?

I know they must be distorted to high heaven but I can't even get my head around these basslines. I'd love to be able to make some stuff like this sound, anyone have any ideas about how to go about it? I imagine they use Reason? (seems like a lot of these filth producers do) and from messing around in Reason a fair bit, I'm guessing theyre running a Malstrom or 2 with some ridiculous amount of Scream4 units? I just cant really gather what kinda waveforms or distortion types to go for? If really had to guess I'd say maybe they'd start with some kind of neuro reese and automate the back end off of the freq on a band filter?
I also imagine they'd use a Stereo Imager at the end of their combinator to help deal with things if it sounds a bit too messy. Anyone care to help me crack this? haha

Sorry I don't have any synthesis insight into this atm, but lemme just let the world know how FUCKIN HAPPY I AM for 16bit to come out with some new stuff. One of the only exciting brostep artists for me.

The first tune has a comb filter at least on a few parts of the bassline... the "intro" bass notes are a reese that's been frequency split most likely...and they probably bounced to WAV and did some chopping and re-arranging would be my guess.

If we're using a reese as the original sound, would you add a comb to it even after using a notch? (always assumed that was a key element in a decent reese)

Don't quote me on this but I wouldn't be surprised if he uses FL, either with or without Reason (but like you said probably with) mainly do to his ties with Feed Me and Noisia. But that's assuming the info I read somewhere on them is accurate and up to date. Producers of their caliber can pretty much coax sick beats out of any daw though so it doesn't really matter that much IMHO.

you can do a lot with fl these days, the only thing i notice that fl is inferior is sound drivers, stuff like ablton produces a crisper sound. /offtopic comment

16bit uses ableton + a bunch of plugins, read it in an interview awhile back.

comb it last, or comb it last and add a dab of crunch
