Hi my name is Fat Chocolate and I have been producing dubstep for about a year now, around 6 months seriously. Ive had trouble in the past finding samples but I found a few packs and increased my library of sounds. These however are getting kind of boring to me and often times I cannot find a certain sample that I want to use. I was wondering where other producers get there samples from. Also, I am interested in finding out how other producers find unique vocal samples? I know there must be sites out there where artists post acapellas for producers to use. I have come across a few but all of them were rubbish. Any help on either of these topics would be of much help to me and I would be very appreciateive of any feedback. Thank you very much and Have a nice day.

For unique vocals avoid the vocal packs, seriously. Listen to music you love, sample it. Watch films you love, sample them. Listen for parts of dialogue or lyrics that stand out to you personally in some way. Go to your local library and rent DVDs. I got 10 documentaries on DVD the other day for free from the library that are just full of amazing sounds. Get netflix or something, there's countless films to stream instantly. Watch docs on
http://www.documentaryheaven.com with Audacity or whatever ready to record.
Or just buy these if you want the generic vocals everyone else has:

Your name is amazing btw.

Listen to gangster rap, old hardcore, and ragga, like constantly. 99% of the time theres at least 8 tunes worth of vocal samples in each track you put on... Cut them out, put them in one masssiiive folder... then go through movies, repeat the process.
I promise everything you make from there will mean more to you than if you just download a vocal samples pack. Youll remember all the time you spent combing through fuckloads of old rundmc cassettes that were long forgotten under your bed until you found that ONE perfect 3 second audio snippet, all the neat things you did to it to avoid the sample police, ect... you'll feel more connected to it.
