yeah already commented on their facebook,and while after everything they have done I feel bad to thrash talk them,I feel really disappointed about them..First the Comps,2nd the interview with the DMA's and now Skrillex!?! I mean WTF?

If anyone stands a chance to open the "bro"-fans' eyes to some deeper stuff, it's Getdarker imo. They've always (for a while at least) been pretty much all over the spectrum and if having some Skrillex on the front page means that just one in 100 bro fans find, and like, some of the good stuff I would see that as a success.

Edit: That said, not gonna watch the video, not a fan of Skrillex at all.

Yeah definitely. Maybe GD can act as a sort of bridge between the two camps and hopefully lead some people unto the real, good stuff.

didnt expect to see this on getdarker. although its only a video. if he was to ever play a proper set on getdarker tv, thats when i would cry a single tear. of embarresment.

edit - i dont think any of the sweaty kids will be listeing to the darker styles anytime soon, even if it is directly linked next to a skrillex track. i think they will just listen to more skrillex and whatever high pitched stuff ukf puts on its channel.
realistcly, getdarker isnt a gateway, its just another site hosting a skrillex video to those kids...

Well who knows? Maybe just a few of those kids are potential fans of the darker stuff but just haven't been exposed to it yet - that's how music discovery and the evolution of one's taste in music works.

You're probably right in most cases, but shouldn't we just be happy that the good stuff gains a whole batch of new potential buyers/lovers, even if it is just 1 in a hundred or even thousand?

We can all choose to not watch that video, so I don't really see why it's hurting anyone as long as GD continue to ALSO push the darker/deeper/watchamacallit sound.

As for the song itself, Skrilex, seems to be improving. This was was good before the shitty drop as opposed to just okay before the shitty drop.

Yeah but all of his songs are exactly the same..Kick snare beat/cheesy synths,chopped up vocals,OH MY FUCKING GOD sample(or something similar,then the same drop with the same synths..really its all of the same same same thing can't beleive people buy this shit

I'm not too worried about it. GetDarker has been great thus far, and I doubt this is a slide into getting tons of cheesy bro stuff during GetDarker.TV.

I seem to remember a 'Circus Takeover' or 'Rottun Takeover' or something like that a while back, same sitation, download it if it ticks your clock, but if it's not your thing then just wait for a better GetDarker set. I think that this can only be a benefit for the deeper/dungeon/purple scenes.
