Raviation wrote:This is obviously aimed at producers!
Every producer in any kind of music wants to get recognised, it's a small part in why they started!
But a few years back, Myspace seemed to be the best way to get your music out there interactively, which got me thinking. Facebook groups and pages have now become a main feature on the social networking site and millions over pages are being liked daily, with the advantage that facebook has hundreds and hundreds of millions actively using the site daily, Facebook is extremely popular now!
I have been making dubstep for a short while now, I go under the name of Raviation and I have just started to produce dubstep!

Do you think this is a good way of promoting your talent?
Cheers
Raviation!

Thats a bit harsh? I'm 16 and have just started producing, I wanted to know idea's on how to get my music out there, not to boost my ego, but to get some feedback and find out how I can improve!
I'm not sure weather the world would be better off without me, I don't make much of an impact, whereas you, you are just rude and by the look of your grammar, you're not only rude, you are dumb as fuck!

Yeah, I was a new-16-year-old-producer too, and what did I do? Focused on music and made an album. That's the best form of promotion; making music people want to listen to.
I really hate when people try to use their age as a ploy to get fans. If anything, that makes people care less because being young doesn't make you better, it generally makes you worse because you've just started out. Yeah, age can be a cool tidbit, but don't try and use it as the selling point to your tunes because
nobody cares. Who cares if I'm only 17, it doesn't change the way my music sounds.
Midnight Request Line didn't get big because Skream was 19, it got big because it is a good track.
Age is only relevant if you are good at what you do.
And I'm not referring to your post here, I'm referring to your spamming of all the Facebook pages.

dubstepforum is not for you mate. Facebook is excellent for promoting events. It can also be used to promote new tunes and artists, but one has to be very careful not to piss people off.

Facebook is good for presence and a great way to communicate but not so good for promoting in the beginning.
I have found that giving away free ringtones is an excellent new trick to promote our band.
I use mycellspot.com to make ringtones and post thier ringtone app to our website so I can share my ringtones with our fans.
Give it a try every little bit helps and it is fun too!!

I think you guys are too harsh on him. He's young and he just wants to make it, be more welcoming into the community. You don't want to scare him off just because you don't like his tactics.
Raviation- we've all been there before, being young and wanting our music to be discovered, hell- I'm 20 and I'm as noticed now as I was back then (not very at all) but it doesn't matter when I'm in-between a community of musicians that are similar minded and I can just share my tunes with, it's what really broadens an artists' horizons.
