Ambient VST?

What's a good ambient/spacey sound FX VST, that's legit and is used for sub-bass synth, and atmospheric sounds?
Thanks.

FM8! ;-)

For sub-bass, all you need is a sine oscillator. Most vsti's have that. For ambient, just experiment with whatever you got.
Here's a great free vsti: http://www.kvraudio.com/db/superwave_p8_by_superwave

Really, for ambient I like to just experiment and do my own thing, but this also has some great presets for classic sounds you may be familiar with but aren't sure how to make.

the sound quality of suprawave is pretty sh!te. I tried it a while back.

Spacesyn is a good (non-ubiquitous) ambient synth and it is fx also.

NI absynth.

or alternatively get reaktor, find a pad sound/sample (or make one) stick it through the grainstates or travelizer ensembles = instant granular ambience. thinking about it you can stick pretty much anything through them and with a bit of reverb + delay and some re sampling youve got some cool soundscapes

also grab a freebie sampler, but something that does extreme pitching or/and time stretching (*edit - what deadly said ^^^), drop a sample down huge amounts in pitch, do it again with a few different sounds but pitch them to the first sound/layer etc etc, and then route them to a send with delay, reverb and filters and play with the automation to give it movement

Take a break from pirating every synth known to man and learn to use one.

:D Nice to know someone who can be a douche.

Just for the record, i need a AMBIENT vst because I want a AMBIENT native VST
I USE MASSIVE FOR BASS,LEAD SYNTH, and etc
I USE FM8 FOR APPREGIATOR EFFECTS AND OTHERS.
So before you assume something you don't know.
Know another dubber before you pressume your interrogation towards anyone. especially for something he doesn't do :D
P.S. I received Massive and FM 8 as a present :P

I agree. No synth has the "ambience" knob that you can turn to 110%. Principles are more important, you can then make the sound on any synth

Agreed. You're not just limited to just xBASSx with massive. ....even if you were you could probably like, I don't know, filter a dr. p screech and slap on a reverb plugin with no dry signal in the mix.

All you're doing is proving my point by being so hell bent on wanting an "AMBIENT native VST".

Massive has 8 separate envelopes/LFO's that you can use on pretty much any parameter. That alone should make it extremely obvious that it's a beast for ambiance. Oh and it has a sine wave (Those are used for sub bass).

So, like I said. Learn to use it.

I've created tons of really cool pads with massive. It's my go-to synth when I don't know what kind of sound I want and I need to just get a patch done quickly. If you just downloaded Absynth, I think that's pretty much all you'll ever need unless you want to shell out 1000 million hundred thousand dollars for Omnisphere.
