SNH free dubstep album?

Just floating this idea about to gauge the interest really.
What say we put an album together purely of DSF/SNH dubs, design the artwork etc... and distribute it through any ways we can, digital and hard copy, if it goes well maybe make it a regs thing.
Two issues:
How do we go about sharing the cost? Contributors make a donation? I know it's free provisionally so their won't be any proceeds... idk
And also... how do we go about picking potential tracks to feature?
Ideas welcomed.

considering the SNH dubs/ mixes threads (and all the free distribution within them), i find the profiteering of this section of DSF slightly disturbing, since our efforts thus far have been largely promotional / light hearted / free for all.
...although those involved in such endeavors may seek greater profits/ opportunity within this vein of thought... just my opinion.

I'd be up for contributing and helping with a free release. As knell said I don't think it should be sold.

There was a couple of SNH community mixtapes a while back but both were pretty meh IMO. The artwork was good though.

We should do something like this, but to some sort of brief... another forum I'm on has released two little collections now and giving each one a theme of some sort is a great way to get people to start (and more importantly, finish) something!
I'd be up for contributing!

Yeah, interested too... but as mentioned, the money thing sounds like a nightmare when it comes to actual logistics and payouts (if any). You could pick potential tracks like most people, set up a soundcloud and ask for people to privately share finished tunes with it. Just make it a point that they should be finished so everyone doesn't send you loops and WIPs. Also have to figure out a way to get in contact with dj wanka and get sum real dub on the track.

Also remember you'll probably not be able to use the DSF association on it without permission, especially if sold. Not sure if that applies to secret ninja hideout as well though.

Are there actually much costs involved? I don't know if bandcamp costs money, but you could put it up on there, let people download it for free but give them the option to donate.
Probably only 0.01% of the downloaders will donate, but yeah.
And I'm in to make some tunes.

Bandcamp is free but they take 30% iirc

I'm willing to contribute tracks, as for promotion and art i'm pretty shit. But I will keep chucking tracks into this project if you want. If it gets more people listening to tunes we make it's all good.
