Hi i am a dubstep producer who uses fruity loops 9 and i cannot seem 2 get my kicks and snares sounding really powerful Like they should be.Is there some one who can help me regarding this it would be much appreciated.

hi is there any 1 who can tell me how i mixdown my beat correctly on fruity loops so the instruments bass etc are sounding clean and crisp thanks

You adjust the volumes of each track until they all sound good in relation with each other.

First of all, read the stickies mate. People will throw shit at you otherwise.
I suggest you read through the production bible, it has lots of helpful tips.

As for your kick/snare problem, what i usually do is find samples that have a central 'punch' (Say 200hz for a snare, 90hz for a kick), cut everything below that, boost the punchy frequency to your liking, and then cut that frequency out of EVERYTHING else. (not completely cut, just until it doesn't sound muddy)

I ALWAYS use my transient shaper on my kicks, snares, and hats. It really does help.

I always stack kicks and snares/claps. Ontop of eqing for desired punchiness I like to adjust vol. of the hits slightly too like one kick will hit at -10 the other will be at -9db. But nothing is ever set in stone.

Have you experimented with parrellel compression on your drum buss or even the kick and snare busses depending on your setup. search/google for parrellel compression techniques... i have jsut started using some in my tracks and i like the effect it can give your drums. allows for punch and dynamics all in one imho.

I'd start with the production bible, but yeah: good samples are a must (you can't polish shit, so to speak). Vengeance packs are pretty standard, but easy to recognize, so layer them. Accentuate their strong points (kicks should be around 90-120hZ. Cut out everything below to make room for the sub, and snares are around 200hZ. Cut out below and above, but don't ruin the sample by overdoing it. A lot of big producers (you cab hear it in skrillex and downlink songs) combine a nice, punchy snare with white noise and reverb (there was a thread about this) which makes for great drums.

Barkid, I've merged the two threads you've started into one as the subjects are releated. Also, just to clarify the (basic) difference between Mixdown & Mastering;

Mixdown - adjusting the volumes of the individual elements to balance out

Mastering - taking the mixed down track and running it various processing to make it sound BIGGER
