Thoughts? Anyone played the demos? Penalties are better, the off the ball movement control for attacking player looks decent also.

SNH league?

Wanna see if Konami have fixed up from the last game such a shame the way this franchise has gone.

was 2011 really bad though? i'm still rinsing it pretty hard even now.... probably less good than it was in 05 and 06 but still, thought 2011 was pretty good - took a long while to get used to the weighted passes and full 360 degree movement, I swear people haven't given it enough of a chance

the 2008 PES was the last one I played before being introduced to FIFA09. didn't bother playing any after that apart from a few games at mates. everyones converted to FIFA now they've stepped up their game, don't know anyone that playsPES these days.

i was PES until Fifa 2010 came out. Then I switched because Fifa was clearly the better game, hope it stays that way as well because I like having the licenses too. Gameplay > licenses every time though

Haven't tried it this year... got both the year before last and ended up playing FIFA 10 almost exclusively so didn't bother last year either. FIFA 12 is so fucking good, I just can't see them catching up for a little while.

does fifa have the longevity tho? It seems too easy to score sick goals? Are you still playing these new 'superior' fifas right up until the next one comes out? Pro-evo is the only computer game I play, dont want to go for FIFA and find i'm bored of it 6 months in....
I suppose the sensible thing to do would be to buy fifa, play for a month then trade if its not all that

Getting it from ShopTo so hopefully a Thursday delivery ^___^

On 360 tho.

I can see why people like FIFA, but to me it just feels nothing at all like football. Even this 'new' tactical defending just feels like a tacked on gimmick rather than actually adding any depth to the game. I prefer how you can retain possession on PES with subtles movements of the analog stick rather than fancy tricks & moves as well.

And yeah, Pro Evo was atrocious from about 2008 to 2010 so it's not surprising people switched.

Was playing FIFA 11 right up until 12 got delivered... it's anything but easy with the new defending, tbh. Skate 3 took over for a little while, but I ended up back on FIFA. With the new live seasons I can see myself getting severely addicted to this... I've said "I'll just keep playing til I get knocked out of this cup" too many times already!

Fifa 12 is the first Fifa game to beat PES5/6 on PS2.

The new defending is really, really good too.

Only problem is the shooting is a bit tap square/B and it goes in at times, but only if there's no defenders putting pressure on, also the dribbling is not as tight as i would like. Other than that though very fun - a lot more addictive than 2011!

bought pro on friday, its fucking siiick if anyone is considering it...
the physics of ball/ player movement seemed to have been changed a fair bit, you can go on some amazing (but realistic) runs and the shooting is wicked. Online play improved, off ball movement is quality, looks like a winner from PES this year :)

haha, not sure if sarcastic but cheers! played fifa tihs wknd too, to be honest the both seem fucking quality, just about which one you settle with and get good at. Fifa definitely have the edge on some of the game modes etc.....at the end of the day Pro or Fifa > all other games, still
Pro have been pretty favourable on arsenal player ratings too this year which is good, actually made wilshre sick, they are usually a bit slow on the uptake when players get good, also arteta, gibbs, song, rosicky, gervinho are all pretty handy

I stopped playing football games after pro08. All my mates switched to fifa and I just found it so boring. Trying so hard to be realistic just took the fun out of it for me....I'm glad to hear good things about this so I'll defo be considering a purchase.

I reckon it's actually worse than the demo. Online is fucking atrocious as well, with this new passing assistance settings everyone ramps it up to full and makes 100 one touch lazer guided passes across the pitch.

Not happy as underneath it's a really good game, but they've ruined it with a couple of really poor design decisions.
