Im looking for help understanding how artist like koreless arkist ect make their sound. I understand the percussion arrangement and sample choices are obviously very important. But im more looking for help on understanding how to create the pads and synths they use to create the amazing atmospheres in the tracks they create.
If that did not make sense i guess im trying to ask how the get so much "texture" in the tracks they make.

Generally, i'd suggest constructing your synths with softer waveforms like triangles and sines, especially for those koreless type bleeps and bloops. Arkist layers them sometimes with noise.

untold has a very unclinical way of mixing tracks.. id say just create and go in the sense of what u FEEL more then what should be.. and focus a lot on what low frequencies are saying

i'd be interested to know about the techniques used in this one, if anyone has any insight?:
specifically the evolving bass, really hard to tell if it's all one sound being tweaked or layered up stuff..
also the mix is wicked.. really raw
any techno heads care to enlighten me?

to me that bass sounds like fm synthesis, with the filter env controlling fm amnt and filter freq.
all those pads are really old 90s style, lots of 5ths and dissonance
the mix down is beyond me, im never to sure i just try "feel" myself to the end...
hope this helps and if anyone could add anything else it would be interesting to me aswell
